diskJokke Debuts Environmentally Friendly Video for Now Dance
Posted by GeoffFeb 7
Oslo-based producer and DJ diskJokke (a.k.a. Joachim Dyrdahl) has debuted an accompanying video for his new single “Now Dance”, released as the latest installment from Oslo-based label Splendour’s limited edition 7″ vinyl series. The single is now available at Insound. Created to promote the use of wind energy in Norway, the amusing video personifies windmills that creep throughout the town unseen before ultimately breaking down into an epic dance sequence.
The quirky single, named by Stereogum as a “bouncy electro-funk jam” was reworked by UK artist Bright Light Bright Light, and contrasts Dyrdahl’s more recent ambient work. With three critically acclaimed LPs and a great remixography (including official remixes for David Lynch, Lindstrøm, Foals, the xx, Lykke Li and Bloc Party), diskJokke has become a respected name in the electronic music world.
Splendour first released a split from artists His Clancyness and Shimmering Stars this past October, a Half-handed Cloud and I Was A King split earlier this month, and now diskJokke’s latest.
