Free Download of Do or Die from The Wandas

The Wandas

Here at Blog Rocking Beat, we do our best to not only keep you in the loop, but get you free music downloads, too. Here’s another one coming your way. This time it’s a new song from The Wandas titled “Do or Die.”

“Do or Die” comes from the band’s self-titled album, a collection of interweaving doo-wop vocal melodies and ’60s and ’70s rock, which is set to drop on August 30th.

“The Wandas” was already named one of the “50 Best Albums of 2011″ by Guitar World. USA Today raves “Do or Die. Ooh, I can’t get tired of this one — and after the first chorus, I couldn’t get tired of singing it, either. The Wandas may remind you a bit of early Wilco, although they hail from Boston.” My Old Kentucky Blog goes on to say “The Wandas’ breakthrough may be upon us. The song is both effortless and timeless, the kind of thing Tom Petty used to knock out at will, and a slice of music so perfect that you need not be surprised if you end up standing next to your parents the next time The Wandas swing through your town.”

Check it out and decide for yourself!

Young Circles Drops Jungle Habits on August 23rd With Free Download

Young Circles Jungle HabitsYoung Circles have announces the release of their debut full-length Jungle Habits, out August 23rd. To usher in the arrival of their first LP, they’ve released the single “2012″ for free download; get it here.

Young Circles pose a problem. Their songs, with their serpentine structures, dynamic percussion, and many-layered, spacey sounds, are not easily distilled or generalized. It’s hard to believe, then, that this genre-defying Florida band spent its first few years playing straight-up garage rock, first as Stonefox and then Blond Fuzz. But in 2010, just weeks before their album was set to release, they abandoned the project completely.

They scrapped all but two songs, changed their name and started on their debut work, the Bones EP, released in January 2011. Now, less than a year later, they’re back to prove their mettle with their first full-length album, Jungle Habits.

Where the Bones EP hits fiercely from the start, with searing feedback and stormy beats, Jungle Habits is all about the hypnotic build in force. The first half of the album is introspective and emotionally raw, but as intensity builds, the band’s focus turns outwards; by the time you reach “2012,” a danceable end-of-the-world anthem, the album has exploded into something celebratory and carefree.

In expectation of the release, Young Circles will head to NYC on July 27th at Spike Hill and July 28th at Piano’s, with dates along the way to come.
