Noah And The WhaleThe London band Noah and the Whale has announced new Fall North American tour dates for November, including stops in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The tour will include stops at major markets including Philadelphia, Boston, and San Francisco, as well as two straight nights at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall. Tickets for the tour will go on sale September 9th.

Playing at this year’s Lollapalooza, the band found their set to be a huge success, with Time Out Chicago singing the band’s praises, noting “Noah and the Whale has moved far beyond the folk-centric sound of its debut Peaceful, the World Lays Me Down, which paved the way for bands like Mumford & Sons, and here the combo synth/acoustic sound world sounded positively brilliant on tunes like “Just Before We Met.” Others, like “Blue Skies,” abounding in introspection and pathos, translated effectively even under the midday sun. Bands may be at the mercy of their assigned time of day, but Noah and the Whale proved once again that great music is, quite simply, great music.”

This tour is part of continued support following the 2011 release of the band’s third album, Last Night On Earth. The album was released on March 15th via Mercury/Island Def Jam.

The band recently premiered Yuksek’s remix of “Life Is Life,” which is available for free download via SoundCloud.

Noah And The Whale

Following the very well received music video for “L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.,” London-based Noah and The Whale debut the new music video for “Tonight’s The Kind Of Night.” Directed and edited by lead singer, Charlie Fink, RollingStone.com described the video as “romantic and exciting.” The song tells the story of a boy fleeing his hometown and the excitement that ensues from the unpredictable future. You never know how events will unfold “because tonight’s the kind of night, where everything could change.” To learn more about the video’s inspirations, check out Charlie’s blog post.

Noah and The Whale is also excited to share a free download of the brand new live take of their song “Give It All Back,” recorded at London’s RAK Studios. “Give It All Back” appears on the band’s third album Last Night on Earth, available now on Mercury Records. When Nylon debuted the download, they described the new album as “equal parts perfectly nostalgic and thoroughly modern.” SPIN.com described the song as “LCD Soundsystem’s iconic ‘All My Friends’ but with a hopeful, indie sensibility” with the debut of the song’s in-studio video.
