The Loom Tour Dates and New Video For “In Your Doldrums”

The Loom TeethWhen Brooklyn’s The Loom decided to make a video for “In Your Doldrums” they immediately asked the Ben Stamper to help out. His work on their previous video for “For The Hooves That Gallop and The Heels That March” perfectly captured the dark elements of the band’s sound and his new video, again, captures their intense spirit. The band is currently in the van and headed West after a string of packed shows at SXSW in support of their debut LP, Teeth.

The Loom Drops Teeth On November 1st with Tour Dates

The Loom

Teeth is the debut album from The Loom, which drops on November 1st. The album sways from somber drones of distortion and lonely French horn to manic layers of trumpet, guitar fuzz, and cymbal crashes, its resonance lies in the way these contrasts conjure the idiosyncratic personal details and experiences, both immense and minute, of everyday life. They tell stories of regret and renewal — of characters “doing their dishes in the dark” even while “trying to make the days feel long” — offsetting minor notes with major keys and tempering squall with calm, just as DM Stith’s striking cover image evokes both lightness and dissonance, growth and decay. Or, as “The Middle Distance” says, in a line that could be a statement of purpose for the record, “This is for the ones who still have joy inside their hearts — may you always find it where you don’t have to look.” Live, the band brings a kinship to the stage that results in close harmonies, rich instrumentation and sonic exploration that leaves attendees in joyful awe!

Teeth Drops Whatever on September 20th with Free Mixtape

Teeth

London based electronic-punk trio, Teeth, have announced their debut full-length release appropriately titled, Whatever, out September 20th on Moshi Moshi Records. Comprised of composer Ximon Tayki, vocalist Veronica So, and drummer Simon Whybray, the band has offered a stream of their first single “Care Bear” as well as a download of their “3010 Mixtape” featuring Gross Magic, James Pants, Napalm Death and more at SoundCloud.

Teeth has enraptured a global audience with jubilant dance anthems ever since the release of their 7″ single “See Spaces” last August, also with Moshi Moshi Records. Receiving ample attention for their controversial internet presence, the trio successfully impersonated famous English writer Will Self by posting faux BBC articles and hacked Lady Gaga’s twitter account by guessing her password. Luckily their notorious antics highlight only an aspect of their flourishing career, having played with No Age, Sleigh Bells, D/R/U/G/S, Is Tropical and being invited to perform at Iceland Airwaves Music Festival 2010. Teeth’s unwavering snotty punk attitude and precise, diverse sound keeps music critics and the masses alike continuously captivated. They’ll stop when they stop having fun.
