The Devil Wears Prada Announces 2011 North American Tour Dates

The Devil Wears Prada

Fresh off the 2011 Warped Tour and armed with what the UK’s Metal Hammer called the band’s “most ferocious release to date,” rising metalcore darlings, The Devil Wears Prada (TDWP), have announced “Dead Throne Tour: North America 2011″ the first North American leg of the band’s 2011 – 2012 worldwide tour. The 37-date headline trek kicks off on November 3rd in Milwaukee and will criss-cross the U.S. and Canada over a six-week period. “Dead Throne Tour: North America 2011″ will feature Whitechapel, Enter Shikari, and For Today on all dates. Log onto DeadThrone.com for ticket purchasing information.

The “Dead Throne Tour ” will come on the heels of the band’s October headline trek through Australia that kicks off October 20 in Perth, taking the band to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.

These North American dates are in support of TDWP’s fourth album, the highly-anticipated Dead Throne (Ferret), produced by Killswitch Engage mad genius Adam Dutkiewicz, and set for a September 13th release. With Dead Throne, the band – front man Mike Hranica, guitarist and clean vocalist Jeremy DePoyster, guitarist Chris Rubey, bassist Andy Trick, keyboardist James Baney and drummer Daniel Williams – has turned a corner by turning up the aggression and turning on the emotions. The new album erupts with what TDWP has merely hinted at in the past – it is a brilliant, emotional, captivating and brutal journey that tackles issues of failed relationships and the perseverance of faith.

“We aim to give listeners and fans something they can enjoy, but we’ll also always make songs we personally stand behind,” said Hranica. “We’d write differently if we were purely trying to sell albums, that’s just not how it works for us. No compromises.”

The upward trajectory of TDWP escalated with the success of 2009′s With Roots Above and Branches Below, which debuted at #11 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, and set off a series of events that lead to a breakout year. The Devil Wears Prada was voted Band of the Year by the readers of Alternative Press, went on to appear on the covers of AltPress, Revolver, Outburn, HM, and AMP, and sold out dates around the world. In 2010, they received a Golden God Award nomination, and released their first-ever EP, the conceptual Zombie EP, that gave them their highest-ever chart debut, coming in at #10 on Billboard’s Top 200, and rave reviews.

The Devil Wears Prada Drops New Album on September 13th and Tour Dates

The Devil Wears Prada

The new, as yet untitled album from The Devil Wears Prada, one of the brightest rising stars in the metalcore world, has been completed and is set for a September 13 release (Ferret). This will be the band’s first full-length album since 2009′s critically-acclaimed With Roots Above and Branches Below; TDWP’s most recent release, last summer’s 5-track conceptual Zombie EP (called the band’s “best release to date” by one media outlet), made its Billboard Top 200 chart debut at #10, the highest chart debut of the band’s career.

“Born to Lose,” will be the first single to be released from the album.

Adam Dutkiewicz (Killswitch Engage) engineered and produced the album; singer Mike Hranica described it by commenting, “The new record contains the heavy aspects of the Zombie EP, meshed with the melody of the full lengths. ‘Born to Lose’ captures some of those elements and serves as a comprehensive preview to the album. By all means, I’d call it our most emotional, well-written album to date.”

TDWP will head out on the road this summer on the Van’s Warped Tour, performing on the festival’s Teggart Main Stage. Complete dates are below.
